Good for each other.

I called my mom on my way home from school. Today was the first day my kids have gone to her house for the day since their school shut down last week. Today, they packed their “Mimi bags,” full of Chromebooks, math toolkits, books, school supplies, and excitement.

“How were the girls?” I asked.

She went on to tell me about their day. Rose did better wearing her mask today. The big girls worked hard on their school work.

“At one point, I don’t remember what Adi did, but we were all laughing so hard. Then I laughed harder, which made Adi laugh harder….They’re good for me.” my mom reported as I pictured the scene, all of them doubled over in laughter.

I smiled.

You’re good for them too…

  1. Love this little Slice, love the idea of ‘mimi bags.’ It made me miss my own mama -so sad she hasn’t seen the kids in forever – but so, so happy for you and your fam. Big hugs. Laughter is good for the soul.

  2. How great for your kids and your mom to have this time together. It’s been so hard on everyone to be quarantined. I, myself, since I’m now fully vaccinated, got to hug my grandkids! I think we are all good for each other. Thanks for sharing this with us today.
