Rose. The baby that didn’t want to enter the world. She was perfectly content in her cozy womb. When she finally made her grand entrance, six days late, she was happy as long as she was as close as possible to being back inside. We spent the first five months together, practically every second of every day. She slept nestled in the crook of my arm for nine months before she realized her crib was also comfortable.
As she popped six teeth, almost all at once, Motrin, Tylenol, and frozen teething rings were no match for her head resting on my shoulder or laying, belly to belly through the night.
Tonight as I plopped her in her crib after our nightly date in the rocking chair, she sat up and looked at me with wide eyes. I knelt down and pressed my nose between the bars of the crib. She did the same from the other side until our noses were touching. She sighed and relaxed.
We are connected.
…and just like that our baby is one. May she always be filled with as much joy as she gives us each and every day. Happy birthday my sweet girl.

Just precious. Joy to all.

That is absolutely impossible. She can NOT be one already. She sure is a cute one, though. And yes, quite connected to her wonderful mom.

First off, Happy Birthday, Rose and Happy Birthing Day to YOU! You gave the world another gift one year ago to day – yes a gift to you but we know all children are gifts to the world. They make the world a better place. You will both always be connected as mother and daughter and that connection will allow her to connect with others in this great big world! Thanks for sharing!
